Process for purchasing

* Click on 'Purchase' for any item you want. You can always see what you have ordered by clicking the 'view cart' in the top right corner and then returning to pick more items. This can be useful when looking at your total multi discount at any time or needing to remove an item from your list.

* When you have completed your order, pick a delivery method and click the 'checkout' button in the cart page and fill out your personal details.

* Picking the payment method as 'Battlefield Models' will open a button for paypal and credit/debit cards. If you are a paypal customer you can log on to your account or choose to pay by credit/debit card.

* Payment will be confirmed by e-mail from paypal that you have made a purchase and also by ourselves that your order has been made and pending.

Please Note: If paying by credit and debit card, paypal will ask you to enter your billing address even though you entered the details in the check out. This is because, as stated above, paypal act as a handler for Battlefield Models and they interact with your bank for payments. Thus Battlefield Models will never see your personal finance details.

Painting miniature soldiers is one of the most rewarding parts of the tabletop hobby, and the right acrylic colours can make a real difference to the look of a finished regiment. Many hobbyists build their collections around detailed plastic and metal figures set in historical periods, from ancient Greek hoplites to Napoleonic infantry and WWII squads. A consistent paint scheme helps units feel like part of the same army on the table, whether they are painted in bright parade colours or muted field tones suited to the chosen setting and basing materials used across the display.

Wargames rules bring these painted collections to life, and choosing a system that suits the period and scale you collect is an important decision. Rulebooks written for Pike and Shotte, Black Powder, Hail Caesar, Flames of War, or Bolt Action each offer a different style of play, encouraging players to think about command, movement, and combined arms tactics. Starter sets are often a good way to learn the basics, giving new players enough figures to field a small force and explore the core mechanics before expanding into larger armies and more complex scenarios.

Good tools are just as important as good paint when assembling and finishing a collection. Sharp clippers, precision knives, and fine files help remove mould lines and prepare figures for clean assembly, while quality brushes in a range of sizes allow detail work on faces, weapons, and unit markings. Plastic glue is suited to hard plastic kits, and super glues work well for joining metal parts or attaching figures to bases. A tidy workspace with good lighting makes the whole process more enjoyable and helps maintain steady hands during long painting sessions.

Basing and scenery add atmosphere to a tabletop battlefield and help painted figures feel grounded in their environment. Static grass, tufts, and textured paints can suggest open fields, while carefully placed rocks and sand recreate rougher terrain. Wargamers often theme their boards around famous engagements or fictional settings, drawing inspiration from films, history books, and popular rule systems. A well-decorated table encourages immersive play, supports the narrative of each game, and showcases the effort invested in collecting and painting the miniatures being used.

Shopping for miniatures, paints, and hobby supplies online is convenient, and many enthusiasts enjoy browsing regularly for new releases and special offers. Reward programmes, seasonal discounts, and bundle deals can help stretch a hobby budget further, especially when starting a new period or expanding an existing army. Reading through payment, postage, and returns information before ordering helps avoid surprises, while keeping an account with a wish list makes it easier to track desired items. Planning purchases around upcoming projects keeps the hobby focused and rewarding over time.
