Packaging

Every care is made to protect your goods in transit. In a personal agreement with our couriers, paints will be bubble wrapped and voids filled with biodegradable void fill.

Insurance

As postal costs rise we believe it is unfair for us to now ask you to also pay the insurance costs for UK delivery as well. Thus, Battlefield Models will incur the cost of insurance when posting to you in the UK. If a package arives damaged, accept the package and pleae contact us immediatly.

For International delivery, insurance can be quite expensive for airmail. Therefore we advise that anyone who does not want to take the risk with their package to choose the Insured courier option.

Important note - Delivery times are estimated delivery times. If your parcel has not arrived after the lastest estimate time from dispatch then we can check the tracker code of your delivery.

Returns

We hope that you never need to read this section and will always be happy with your goods. However, you can return an item no matter the reason for a full refund of the product price as long as the item has not been used in a fashion that it can not be returned and re-sold. For example, paints and glues where the contents have been used or plastic parts that have been cut away from the spures and glued.

Please contact us at sales@battlefieldmodels.com before returning any items, so we can advise on the course of action. That is to say, only a small part might need replacing.

Postage is met by the customer returning the item and postage costs will only be refunded if after investigation of the products return and with postal carriers that any item delivered was damaged in transit to the customer. If an order qualified for free delivery, then where the return is due to a change of mind, the original delivery cost may be deducted from the refund.

Please contact us within 7 days to inform us of your desire to return any of your goods and send the goods back within 14 days of your delivery arriving. This does not effect your customer statutory rights.

Refunds will be made back to the card or paypal account to which payment originally came from.

Postage and packing is a topic that often shapes the overall shopping experience for collectors of military miniatures, paints, and modelling tools. The smallest figure order can feel disproportionately expensive to ship, so understanding how a retailer groups, weighs, and protects parcels helps buyers plan their hobby purchases. Many shops combine plastic and metal figures, rulebooks, and accessories into a single consignment, which keeps the contents safe and reduces handling. Clear communication about expected delivery windows also reassures customers who are eager to start painting their next regiment or detachment.

Courier services and national postal networks are the usual workhorses behind a small wargames retailer, each bringing different strengths to the table. Postal services typically handle lighter parcels of single figures, small paint sets, and brushes with reasonable cost, while couriers tend to take larger orders containing boxed infantry, cavalry, or vehicles. Tracked options add confidence for valuable shipments, and signed delivery can be useful for high-value collections. Retailers often choose the carrier based on parcel size, destination, and required speed, balancing reliability with affordability for the customer.

Weight thresholds frequently shape postage costs, and they tend to be a natural point at which buyers can save money by adding extra items to a basket. A small order of a single blister pack or a bottle of paint may attract a flat fee, whereas a slightly larger consignment can move into a better value bracket. Hobbyists often take advantage of this by grouping orders of Vallejo paints, basing materials, or new releases together. Combining purchases in this way is a familiar approach across the modelling community, where patience is rewarded with better overall value.

Packing materials matter as much as the choice of carrier when it comes to getting fragile hobby items to a customer in good condition. Metal figures with thin components, resin models, and delicate tools all need protection against bending, chipping, and crushing in transit. Retailers commonly use bubble wrap, foam, cardboard inserts, and sturdy outer boxes to keep items immobilised. Paint bottles in particular benefit from careful wrapping to prevent leaks. Thoughtful packing reflects an understanding of the hobby, showing that the seller knows what collectors expect when a long-awaited box of figures finally arrives.

Delivery times vary depending on the destination, the chosen service, and external factors such as seasonal demand. Domestic orders often arrive within a few working days, while international shipments can take longer as they pass through customs and local postal systems. Many shops provide estimated timeframes and dispatch updates to keep customers informed throughout the journey. For gamers planning a new army around a particular period, such as Napoleonic, Anglo-Zulu, or Pike and Shotte projects, knowing when to expect a delivery helps coordinate painting schedules and upcoming tabletop battles.
